BEWARE OF IDENTITY THEFT!!
ATTORNEY'S ADVICE - NO CHARGE

1. The next time you order a checkbook, have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name printed in its face. If someone takes it, he/she will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but your bank should know your signature.

2. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED."

3. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the numbers. Anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check-processing channels will not have access to it.

4. Put your work phone number on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box, use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your Social Security Number printed on your checks.

5. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine and run a copy. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel fi unfortunately you lose your wallet. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. Also carry a photocopy of your passport when traveling either here or abroad. We have all heard horror stories regarding IDENTITY THEFT.

6. When you check out of hotel that uses card keys (two copies; often used today), do not return the "keys". Take them with you and destroy them. These have all the information you gave the hotel, including address and credit card numbers and expiration dates. Someone with a card reader, or an employee of that hotel, can access all that information with no problem at all.

Here are some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. The key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if ever is one). However, here is what is perhaps the most important:

3. Call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and Social Security number. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit.

Here are the numbers you need to contact when your wallet and its contents are stolen:

1.) Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
2.) Experian (formerly TRW): 1-888-397-3742
3.) TransUnion: 1-800-680-7289
4.) Social Security Administration (fraud line): 1-800-269-0271

The Brilliant Plan !!

NOTE: This may have been from a comedian, but there is more to it than just a simple humor. Is this a GOOD THINKING? What say you? Thanks to Chit B. for the “forward”.

The Plan!

You gotta love Robin Williams...! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those "good 'ole' boys", we will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported mmediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' "

If you agree with the above forward it to friends...If not, and I would be amazed, DELETE it!!

Forward from Chit B.

I just received this today:

>: Paul Harvey says:
>
> I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of evolution.
>
> Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.
>
> So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game. "But it's a Christian prayer," some will argue. Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect-somebody chanting Hare Krishna?
>
> If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.
>
> If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.
>
> If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.
>
> And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome ….
>
> "But what about the atheists?" is another argument.
>
> What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand.
> Call your lawyer!
>
> Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do.
>
>I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.
>
> Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating; to pray before we go to sleep.
>
> Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.
>
> God, help us.
>
> And if that last sentence offends you,
> well .. just sue me.
>
> The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we let that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard .... that the vast majority don't care what they want. It is time the majority rules! It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray; you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right. But by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back ... and we WILL WIN!
>
> God bless us one and all ... especially those who denounce Him. God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all.
>
> God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.
>
> May 2005 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions.
> Keep looking up.

> If you agree with this, please pass it on.

> If not, delete.

>Don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States, especially burn victims. There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.

Hello Mr. Michael Matthews,

Thank you for your entry at our GUEST BOOK.

If I wasn't able to answer your e-mail re: contributions, maybe I just missed it. Your NEWS BULLETIN (below) had been aired in our hourly newscast the day after I received it (Monday). Since we produce only one news each day, the same is played back every-hour-on-the-hour except when there is a scheduled "canned program" (Like Michelle, Manny, etc.)

Feel free to send us your research works, and we' will air it with proper credits. Regards.
